The 2017 Cote Rotie Cote Brune appears to be a new bottling from Bernard. Toasty, cedary notes mark the nose, but there are also enough layers of mixed berry fruit to support the oak treatment (all barriques, 25% of which are new). It’s medium to full-bodied, lush, creamy and long—an altogether enjoyable, modern-styled and elegant wine that should drink well for up to 15 years.
